Google Ads (formerly known as Google AdWords) is one of the best advertising options online. With 5.6 billion Google searches performed every day, Google Ads are a great way to get your website in front of your customers.
How To Set Up A Google Adwords Campaign
Did you know that for every $1 spent on Google ads, the average business owner earns $2 in revenue? That ROI is hard to beat with other advertising platforms. That’s why if you’re looking for a better option when it comes to advertising, you should consider Google Ads.
How To Set Up A Google Ads Smart Campaign
Getting started with Google Ads isn’t hard, but it’s overwhelming. That’s why I’m going to walk you through 7 steps to set up a campaign, even if it’s your first time signing up for Google Ads.
Go to https://ads.google.com. After that you will see “Get started now”. Click on it and sign in to your Google Ads account. You can click on the button that says “Create your first campaign”.
You have options for campaign type. When starting, it is best to select “Search network only”.
Name your campaign. You can choose a name that is associated with the product or service you are promoting.
How To Create A Revenue Generating Google Ads Campaign
You have many options when it comes to people locations. You can choose a large or small portion. For example, an entire country or city. If you want a specific area, you can use latitude-longitude coordinates.
Make sure you know the locations of your ideal customers. If you’re a local business owner, you’ll want to target people in your area. If you sell your products and services to people across the US, you may want to set up multiple campaigns for the countries with the most sales or the countries where most of your customers live.
Until you become a skilled Google Ads user, it’s best to set a low daily budget. This allows you to start slowly, gather data, and expand your work once you know your campaigns. Remember that Google can pay your daily budget at once. For this reason, it’s important to keep a close eye on your campaigns and adjust your budget each week to ensure you don’t exceed your maximum monthly advertising budget.
This can be difficult, especially for first-time advertisers. Your first option is to add as many keywords as you think are relevant to your business. Of course, that’s what Google wants you to do, because you’ll spend more money.
Launch Your First Google Adwords Campaign
Fight that urge! Instead, focus only on what we call “bullseye” keywords. These are the keywords that make sure the searcher is looking for what you have to offer. There may only be a few of these bullseye keywords, and that’s okay. Do not include any keywords if you suspect that the searcher is not looking for your product or service.
This is where the fun begins. Create an ad that will attract your customers and get them to click through to your website. Prospects are more likely to click on an ad that contains the keyword they used in the Google search bar. So, if you target a specific keyword phrase that your users use (after doing keyword research), make sure you use that phrase in one of the two headlines.
After the headlines, you can move on to the ad description. Focus on the most important benefits of your product or service, explain your unique offering, if any, and end with a strong call to action.
Finally, we recommend sending people to a landing page designed specifically for your ad. By doing this, you can ensure that the information in the ad is reflected on the landing page, leading to stronger conversions. People often make the mistake of setting up an ad promoting a special offer and sending it to a home page that never mentions the deal. This will only lead to disappointment of your expectations. The landing page should be highly targeted for the keyword phrase you used in your ad.
Integrating Google Adwords With Mixpanel
This final step is to set up all the appropriate conversion tracking for your business. Google gives you the following options:
Make sure you set all the appropriate conversion tracking options before running your ads! Otherwise, you won’t be able to measure the effectiveness of your ads.
Keep an eye on analytics while your ads are running. You can see what works and what doesn’t. When you focus on what your ads are doing, you can get closer to what gets you the best results.
Once you find out which ads your customers click on the most, you can create keywords that pay the highest cost per click. This will help you increase your ROI.

Google Ads has changed the way it looks and works over the past few years, making it time for an update.
In this post, I’ll show you how to set up Google Ads campaigns for a store I launched a few months ago.
In the first post of this short series, I talked about keyword research for Google Ads. If you followed this, you should have a spreadsheet like the one below:

If you’re just starting out, don’t add Google Search Partners. These partners can provide a great opportunity to expand your volume, but they can also complicate your campaigns.
It depends on your store. But here are some ideas that I use regularly with my clients:
In the following I will use my apps in the Space Online Store as an example. As I don’t have any popular brands or branded products, I am creating a campaign targeting aviation related inquiries in the US.

Seems pretty straight forward, right? But if you watch the video carefully, you’ll see that it contradicts some of the recommendations I’ve already made (like choosing the right network).
But an important part of effective Google Ads campaigns is telling you how close Google Ads should be to the keywords you serve. Do we want our ads to appear for typos, synonyms, related words, etc.?

So when I talk about keyword in Google Ads, I really mean keywords and related category.
The first keyword is displayed for a query like “buy space posters for classroom”. The second keyword only appears when people search for “space posters”.
You can go as detailed as you like. It is radical to create 3 different keywords for each term we add (each competition category).
I usually try to find a good balance between the volume I expect and the effort it takes to set it all up.
Set Up Conversion Measurement As You Create A New Campaign
So in this case I went with modified broad match keywords. It gives a feel to the module and shows me some other keywords that I didn’t find in my research.
If your budget is really low, you can start with phrase or exact keywords. This way you make sure you only appear for the searches you want.
