To turn off this feature, click the blue autoplay slider at the top of the right column of these videos. It’s so easy and when I turned it off, YouTube remembered that I did it by restarting the browser and system.
You can also leave autoplay on and stop the next video from starting after the current video ends. The autoplay feature loads the next video, but it takes a few seconds before it starts playing. Click Cancel in these few seconds to stop the process.
YouTube appears to have only added autoplay to its desktop site. The mobile apps don’t seem to get this feature.

Of course, if you like this feature but don’t want to waste your monthly data, choose Wi-Fi only. That way, you’ll still see the video automatically when you’re at home or connected to your router, and you won’t have to worry about your carrier sending you a bill with excess data charges.
