Wifi Not Showing In Windows 10
Of course, this is never a good thing. In fact, without internet, many smartphone apps will stop working and your precious device will stop working.
Fortunately, if your Android phone won’t turn on, there are a few different steps you can take to fix it.
Make sure you’re not in airplane mode, which cuts off all external connections to your phone. To do this, go to the home screen and swipe down from the top of the screen. This will open the phone’s control center.
Make sure the airplane icon is not highlighted here or says “On”. If so, tap it to turn off airplane mode.
How To Fix It When Your Wi Fi Network Is Not Showing Up
You should also check if your phone’s Wi-Fi sensors are enabled. To make sure Wi-Fi is turned on, open the Settings app and tap the Connections button. If not, tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn it on.
If your phone still won’t connect, make sure you’re trying to connect to the correct Wi-Fi network and that you have the correct password. You can use a Mac or PC to check your Wi-Fi password, which is a good way to find the correct information.
If your phone is connected but nothing is downloading, you can try refreshing your network connection. In this “Connections” menu, tap the name of the connected Wi-Fi, then tap “Forget” in the menu that appears.
If none of these work, you may need to reconnect your Wi-Fi router. This can usually be done by unplugging it for ten seconds and plugging it back in. It takes a while to reconnect and then your signal starts to propagate again.

Finally, you can perform a factory data reset. This will erase everything on your phone and restore it to factory defaults, as if you’ve never used it before. This will erase all your data, so be careful here.

Open your laptop at the airport, coffee shop, hotel or conference room. You go to work, select the right Wi-Fi network and… nothing. The Wi-Fi icon may show that it is connected, but your browser will tell you that you are not connected to the Internet, no matter how hard you try. This login popup will never load.
We’ve all been there. As a remote team that spent a lot of time working in common spaces and coffee shops, we wasted far more time trying to connect than actually trying.
There’s no magic button to connect to cafe, hotel, and airport Wi-Fi, but these tricks get us connected most of the time.
Should I Use 2.4 Ghz Or 5 Ghz Wifi?
→ You’ll probably need these tips when your Wi-Fi connection is down, so download the Wi-Fi Data Sheet at the end of this guide to get a copy of these tips when you need them.
A common problem with public Wi-Fi is that the login screen does not appear. This is only a problem on open, public, unsecured Wi-Fi networks.
If you connect to an open network, for example at a friend’s house, you usually do not need a password and can start surfing the Internet immediately. You often have to create an account or enter a code from a receipt before you can surf the web over coffee shop or airport Wi-Fi. You have to do this in a custom login screen and it often fails to load.
The best solution is also the most secure: choose only encrypted Wi-Fi connections. Usually shown in the Wi-Fi menu with a key next to its name, encrypted networks will ask for a password in a standard dialog like the one above. Once you enter your password, your computer will remember it, so you won’t need to create it again on your device.

Secure Wi-Fi connections are always easy to access, but they also add a security edge. By default, on public Wi-Fi, anything you enter on a non-secure, non-HTTPS site can be seen by anyone else on the network. Networks encrypted with WPA2 passwords are much harder to attack, so your data is more likely to be secure.
Some networks offer an encrypted and public network option, and you can log into one. If so, choose an encrypted network.
No encrypted network? These tips will help you open the login screen to get started.
Another tip to keep in mind is a trick that usually helps landing pages load: disable the alternate DNS server.
Use Home Sharing To Share Media From A Computer To Other Devices
If you don’t know where to change your DNS settings, you’re probably fine; By default, your computer will automatically select a DNS server from your Wi-Fi router, expecting it to use it automatically. And that’s fine, at least over public Wi-Fi: your login page is more likely to load and you won’t need these tips.
If you have Google DNS, OpenDNS, or any other alternative DNS enabled in your network settings, this could be your problem. Most public Wi-Fi networks use a DNS server to tell your computer which login page to open; it will not work if you use an alternate DNS server.
Tip: Once enabled, you can re-enable custom DNS server settings to speed up page load times and avoid some content restrictions. Two great options for doing this are Google DNS (220.127.116.11 | 18.104.22.168) and OpenDNS (22.214.171.124 | 126.96.36.199).
If you guess the Wi-Fi network identification page, you can sometimes open it.
How To Share Your Wi Fi Password From Your Iphone, Ipad, Or Ipod Touch
You may get a default download login page in your browser’s address bar (or you may see a router configuration login page, in which case don’t try to login unless you’re at home).
If this does not work, open the network settings again and enter the IP address of your computer as in the screenshot above. Replace the last number with the next number and try entering the same IP address in your browser
. Or, if that doesn’t work, check the TCP/IP tab in Network Settings to get the router’s IP address.
Or, if you’re trying to connect to a company’s public Wi-Fi network (perhaps Gogo Internet on a flight or a carrier’s Wi-Fi network in a shopping mall), try opening that company’s website. Most public Wi-Fi networks allow you to browse the company’s site without logging in and often have a connection to their Wi-Fi network.
